Mr. Bernstein earned his JD degree in law from New York Law School in 1972 after first receiving a Masters Degree in History from SU NY Stony Brook and a BA from Grinnell College. He has long been active in public and charitable affairs on Long Island and was a candidate for New York State Supreme Justice in 1997.
